Using MS FrontPage 2000 on a non FP server extension web site

 To upload MS FrontPage 2000 / XP web site to a web server that does not support FrontPage server extensions, click on File->Publish Web... in FrontPage.  You should see a screen similar to this:-

Enter the location of your web server.  This should be in the form ftp://ftp.<your domain>/www. Note the /www at the end.

Then Press the Publish button.  If this is the first time you have published your web in this FrontPage session then you will be asked for a user name and password and will see a screen similar to this:-

Enter your ftp username and password.  This will be the one included in your introductory Email from BUILDANDHOST, or it will be whatever you have changed it to if you changed it in your control panel.  Press the OK button and uploading should start.

If you get any dialogue boxes asking you questions like this:-

 Just reply Yes to All.  When your site has been uploaded you will see the following screen:-

Your site is now on the BUILDANDHOST server and is available for immediate browsing.  Remember to press the REFRESH button on your browser or you may not see the changes you have made to your site.

Using MS FrontPage 2000 on a FP server extension web site

To upload MS FrontPage 2000 web site to a web server that does support FrontPage server extensions, click on File->Publish Web... in FrontPage.  You should see a screen similar to this:-

Enter the location of your web server.  This should be in the form http://<your domain>.

Then Press the Publish button.  If this is the first time you have published your web in this FrontPage session then you will be asked for a user name and password and will see a screen similar to this:-

Your Username: This should be '<server name>\<your user id>' (e.g. FRONTPAGE\jeff). Your Password: This is the password you have set up. This is case sensitive!  Your site will be uploaded.  Once complete you should see a screen similar to:-

Your site is now on the BUILDANDHOST server and is available for immediate browsing.  Remember to press the REFRESH button on your browser or you may not see the changes you have made to your site.

Note: You are not able to use FTP to publish to domains on our FrontPage servers.
